If you’re travelling to Bangkok with children, your hotel can become much more than just somewhere to sleep. After a busy day exploring temples, shopping centres and attractions, having an indoor play area where your children can burn off energy is a huge bonus.
For families with autistic children or sensory seekers, a hotel playroom can also provide a familiar space to regulate after a day of new sights, sounds and experiences.

Why We Love Hotels With Playrooms
When travelling with children, especially autistic children, hotel playrooms offer much more than entertainment.
They provide somewhere children can:
- Burn off energy after a flight.
- Take movement breaks during sightseeing.
- Regulate in a familiar environment.
- Escape Bangkok’s heat and humidity.
- Enjoy downtime on rainy afternoons.
- Meet other children.
For parents, they also provide a chance to sit down with a coffee while the children play safely nearby.
Tips For Choosing The Right Hotel
Not every family needs the biggest playground, so think about how you’ll use it.
You may prefer:
- Apartment-style accommodation with a kitchenette if your child has food allergies or a restricted diet.
- A hotel connected to a shopping centre for easy access to restaurants.
- A location close to the BTS Skytrain to reduce walking.
- An indoor playroom if you’re visiting during the rainy season.
- A hotel with both a swimming pool and indoor play area to keep children entertained throughout your stay.
Bangkok is one of the best cities in Asia for family-friendly hotels, and several properties now offer indoor playgrounds that are attractions in their own right. Whether you’re looking for a huge soft play centre, a genuine HarborLand, or simply a safe place for your children to play after a busy day exploring, there’s a hotel to suit every family.
