Singapore requires all short-term visitors and returning residents to complete the SG Arrival Card (SGAC) before entering the country. It’s a simple online form where you provide your travel details, passport information, and a short health declaration. This digital card replaces the old paper form that used to be handed out on the plane, making arrival smoother and faster.
Who Needs To Complete the SG Arrival Card?
Almost everyone entering Singapore must complete the digital arrival card, including:
- Short-term visitors
- Tourists
- People travelling for business
- Returning Singapore residents and long-term pass holders
The only exceptions are transit passengers who do not clear immigration. If you are staying airside and not entering the country, you do NOT need to fill it in.
Each traveller must complete their own SG Arrival Card, including children.
Why You Need To Do It?
The digital arrival card allows Singapore immigration to:
- Pre-clear your travel details
- Reduce queues at the border
- Replace paper forms and streamline the process
- Verify your health and travel information before you arrive
Airlines often check at check-in whether you’ve completed the SGAC, and arrival officers can ask to see proof. Not filling it in may delay your entry at immigration. We have flown into Singapore and arrived by cruise ship and we had to do the SGAC on both types of entry and were notified by the cruise line in advance of arrival to do the online form before arrival.
When To Complete the Singapore Arrival Card
You can fill in the SG Arrival Card up to 3 days before your arrival date (including the day of arrival).
For example: if you land on 15 August, you can complete the form anytime from 13–15 August.
Travellers can also fill it in on the same day they arrive, but doing it in advance makes the airport experience much smoother—especially with kids. If you do arrive to the airport without completing the form yet, they have counters where you can do it on the spot before you pass passport control.
How To Fill In the SG Arrival Card Online
You can complete it using:
- The official ICA website
- The MyICA mobile app (iOS & Android)
The process takes around 3–5 minutes per traveller.
You’ll need:
- Passport details
- Flight number
- Intended address in Singapore (hotel, cruise terminal, or residence)
- Basic travel and health information
Once done, you’ll receive a confirmation email. You do not need to print anything – everything is digital and it will be linked to your passport when you scan it in Singapore.
