10 Tips For Travelling With Costa Cruises

Travelling with Costa Cruises can be a fantastic experience if you know how to make the most of your trip. Here are ten tips to help you enjoy your cruise to the fullest:

Forgive the Past (but don’t forget)

When a company experiences a disaster, they often make significant improvements to ensure it doesn’t happen again. Costa Cruises has taken measures to enhance safety and reliability, making them one of the safest choices for a cruise holiday.

Download Their App

Before boarding, download the “mycosta” app and set it up with your information. This invaluable tool allows you to access information without using data or internet while on the ship. The app lets you check the ship’s location, see which restaurants are open, book activities, view photos taken on the ship, chat with other passengers, and much more, all via the ship’s free WiFi.

Bring a USB Device

The TVs in the rooms can play content from USB devices. Bringing a USB stick loaded with cartoons or your child’s favourite shows can be a lifesaver, providing entertainment at any time of the day or night.

Book a Double Room for Three

If you’re a family of three, book a double room. The sofa in the room can be converted into a third bed, saving you money compared to booking two cabins or a larger cabin. For an interior cabin, there are two bunks hidden that come down from the ceiling. This is another option for a family room too. As a family of five, we just had to opt for two cabins to be able to book.

Choose an Inside Cabin

For families with adventurous kids or for those who feel nervous about balconies, an inside cabin is a great option. It provides peace of mind and safety, eliminating the risk of kids climbing barriers or throwing things off the balcony.

Check Your Costa Card for Dinner Reservations

Your Costa Card will list your dinner reservation details, including the restaurant, table, and dining time. You’ll dine at the same table with the same people and be served by the same waiter each night, fostering a familiar and comfortable dining experience. If you prefer a more casual meal, you can always opt for the buffet instead.

Bring Your Own Coffee Cup

If you’re a coffee lover, bring your own coffee cup. Fill it up during breakfast, as the coffee machines are typically removed during lunch, leaving you without access to coffee in the afternoon.

Wait for Deals

If you want to stock up on some bottles of wine- hold off for a few days. Costa Cruises often offers deals a few days into the cruise. If you enjoy wine, wait for package deals that allow you to purchase multiple bottles for the price of one, providing great value.

Join the Costa Club

Sign up for the Costa Club for free to enjoy discounts on nearly everything onboard. Club members get 50% off in specialty restaurants, 25% off drinks, and savings in the onboard stores. You’ll also begin to accumulate points and gain cruise rewards that you can use for travelling with Costa Cruises again in the future.

Book Your Next Cruise Onboard

If you’re planning to cruise again, book your next trip while still onboard. Costa Cruises often offers discounts for future bookings made during your current cruise, allowing you to save money on your next adventure.

By following these tips, you can enhance your Costa Cruises experience, making it more enjoyable, affordable, and stress-free. And check out these items I will be bringing on my next cruise.
